If there’s one rule we live by at CrossFit Actus, it’s this:
Consistency is king. Never forget that.
If you know me then you’ve definitely heard me say this over and over again. You can have the perfect program, the best nutrition plan, or the latest shoes, but none of it matters without consistency. The people who get the best results in our gym aren’t the ones who train the hardest once in a while — they’re the ones who show up again and again, especially on the days they don’t feel like it.
Why Consistency Wins Every Time
1. Small actions add up.
Think about brushing your teeth, it’s not one epic brushing session that keeps them healthy, it’s the daily habit. Fitness works the same way. The main difference is that fitness takes longer than brushing your teeth but the benefits are just as great. Missing a single workout isn’t a big deal. But showing up at least three days a week, every week, for months? That’s what transforms your body and mindset. It’s not easy or sexy but it works. As they say – hard work, works every time.
2. Momentum is everything.
Once you find your rhythm, it’s easier to keep going. The hardest part isn’t the workout — it’s getting to the gym. It starts with booking a session time. That’s why having a routine matters so much. Set your schedule, treat your workout time as non-negotiable, and make it part of your day — just like your morning coffee. If you know me, you know I’m a morning person. Part of the reason I feel like it works so well is that nobody is going to book a 6:00am meeting but later in the day typically comes with better energy levels but more distractions.
3. Consistency beats intensity.
It’s easy to go “all in” for a few weeks and then burn out. In fact we see this fairly often. Lots of people want to train 6 days. week right from the get go but steady progress always wins. The member who trains four times a week for six months will always outperform the one who trains seven days a week for three weeks and quits because they’re exhausted and overtrained.
4. Habits create identity.
When you show up consistently, your brain starts to see you differently. You’re no longer someone trying to work out — you are someone who works out. That mindset shift changes everything, from how you eat to how you carry yourself outside the gym. It build a level of confidence that will stay with you.
Building Consistency Starts with Routine
We’re creatures of habit. The more structure you build around your workouts, the less you have to rely on motivation.
- Pick your training days and stick to them.
- Book your sessions and reserve in our app
- Plan and Pack your gym bag the night before.
- Schedule your workouts in your calendar so nothing comes up.
- Surround yourself with people who keep you accountable.
At CrossFit Actus, we help with that. We track attendance, check in when we don’t see you, we hunt you down. You should celebrate consistency because we know that’s where the magic happens. Just give it time.
The Payoff
When you make consistency your focus, the results sneak up on you. One day you realize your lifts are heavier, your runs are faster, your energy is higher, and your mindset is stronger. You didn’t do anything crazy — you just kept showing up over and over again.
Just Remember: there’s no secret formula, no hack, no shortcut.
Just consistency — day after day, week after week.
Because at the end of the day, consistency is king.
