Hey Actus crew,
It’s that time of year again — the 2026 CrossFit Open is just around the corner! This year’s Open runs from February 26 to March 16, 2026, and it’s three weeks of community, challenge, and celebration of fitness — no matter where you’re at in your journey. I find this is especially important for beginners. It’s a great way to track progress across the years. This year I’m celebrating my 14th Open.
🗓 What the Open Actually Is
If you’re new to CrossFit or haven’t done an Open before, here’s the deal:
- The Open is a three-week, worldwide event where CrossFit HQ releases one workout each week on Thursday evening.
- Workouts are announced on Thursdays, and you have several days to complete them and submit your score online. We will do these workouts all day on Friday.
- You can do the workouts right here at CrossFit Actus during regular classes.
Honestly, it’s one of the coolest times of the year because people of all fitness levels take part — from absolute beginners to more experienced. Most people feel super scared and intimidated by the Open but I promise, it’s just a fun community event.
💪 Our Rules, Your Open Experience
Here at CrossFit Actus our culture is built on three simple but powerful rules that actually make events like the Open meaningful:
1️⃣ Consistency Is Key
The only way to get fitter is to keep showing up — not just when you feel like it, but consistently over time. The workouts you don’t want to do are more important than the ones you do want to do.
The Open is a perfect example of that. It’s not about winning — it’s about staying committed each week, doing the work, and being proud of checking those workouts off your calendar.
You don’t have to be perfect — you just have to show up.
2️⃣ Something Is Better Than Nothing
Not feeling like you’re ready for a full-on effort every week? No worries. Is there movements you can’t do? No problem.
Even scaling the workouts or just getting in and giving it a sincere try counts. The Open is three workouts — three weeks — and we want you to do them in a way that fits your current fitness. What matters most is that you participate, challenge yourself, and have fun.
3️⃣ Progress Over Perfection
Maybe last year you couldn’t do double-unders, or maybe you felt like you didn’t hit the scores you wanted. That’s okay.
The Open gives you a snapshot of where your fitness is right now. When you register, your scores are saved on the CrossFit Games leaderboard — and down the road you can actually look back and see how far you’ve come. That’s real progression. Not perfection.
🎉 It’s a Community Event — Not Just a Competition
One thing I love about the Open is how it brings our community together.
We’ll be doing special events and fun sessions throughout the three weeks to make it social and exciting. This isn’t about pressure or comparison; it’s about connecting with each other and celebrating every effort.
We want everyone to feel welcome — whether you register officially or just do the workouts with us.
And personally? I always like to register every year. It’s cool to have all my scores in one place so I can look back and see how my fitness has changed. It keeps me honest and motivated — and it gives me great data on how my fitness is evolving over time.
🤔 Do You Have to Register?
Nope! There’s no pressure to register — you can absolutely participate in the workouts with your Actus crew without an official registration. But if you’re curious, registering is a great way to be part of something bigger, track your scores over time, and feel that extra bit of connection to the larger CrossFit world.
🏁 Let’s Show Up Together
So here’s the challenge:
Come prepared to show up, put in three weeks of effort, and have fun doing it. That’s it.
3 simple words that sums it all up…Consistency. Participation. Progress.
That’s what you can expect from the Open and CrossFit Actus.
Let’s do this, Actus! 💪 Interested in trying CrossFit? Click here.
